Morgan Spellman is a North Carolina based author who grew up listening to Appalachian ghost stories and watching too much Buffy the Vampire Slayer. As a trans man, he is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and strives to write inclusive stories full of wonder and heart. He currently has three books out in the Abby Spector Ghost Mystery series, starting with Say I Boo. He resides on the outskirts of Charlotte, NC with his wife, son, and three attention-seeking cats.

Morgan grew up in North Carolina where he developed a love for ghost stories from his Appalachian grandparents and a passion for storytelling from his Jewish father, an Engineering Professor who frequently led technically-accurate family Dungeons and Dragons campaigns. He earned a BA in Psychology from UNC Wilmington, before moving briefly to England, where he earned his MA in Creative Writing from Oxford Brookes, and returning home to Charlotte, NC.
As a trans man, he is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and strives to write inclusive stories full of wonder and heart. He’s a strong believer in spreading positivity and speaking up about the things you love—he met his wife by leaving a comment on her Buffy the Vampire Slayer fanfiction.
When he's not writing or working his day job, you’ll likely find him reading to his young son, hiking with his wife, or snuggled up on the couch with tea and cats, re-watching Psych.
He currently has three books out in the Abby Spector Ghost Mystery series, starting with Say I Boo.
